Learn the legends of the local Maori people, be entertained and enchanted by the traditional songs, the haka, poi dance, stick games and the famous story of Hinemoa and Tutanekai.
You will also learn some of Rotorua’s history spanning over 150 years, all in the hotel’s own Matariki Hangi & Culture Centre.

Witness the lifting of the hangi (Maori food) and sample the traditionally steamed cooked food prepared in the hangi pit.

The cultural evening starts with pre-dinner drinks at 6.30 pm and the lifting of hangi followed by dinner at 7.00pm. The evening concludes with an hour cultural show from 8.00pm – 9.00pm.
